"This Book Will Change Your Life" [Arlington Series, Book 1] by Amanda Weaver

Author's Book Description :

A new adult romance from Entangled's Embrace imprint...

Take a chance and change your life...

College was supposed to be where Hannah’s hard work paid off, but the major in honors chemistry she’s been working towards since childhood is slipping away. Worse, she’s not sure she wants it anymore. Salvation comes from an unlikely place—a used bookstore and Ben, the passionate college senior who works there.

Ben’s trapped in a life mapped out for him. Trapped in a future career as a lawyer to make his father happy. Trapped pursuing a girl he doesn't even like because she fits into a world he doesn’t want, but can’t escape. But then he meets Hannah. And for the first time, he knows what it means to truly want something.

So he gives in to being her friend. Then to wanting her. Then to kissing her. And within the freedom of his impulsivity, both of their carefully planned lives begin to fall apart...

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Since Hannah was four years old, she has been doing science experiments with her father. It was their thing. They were so into it together that she got into the honors program in chemistry her freshman year of college. However, she realizes as she flunks her first college chemistry test that what she always believed to be her future isn’t what she wants any more. It is all made even clearer when she meets Ben, finds Prometheus Books, and discovers a love of reading that she never realized before. One book and guy really did “change her life.”

This compelling read is PERFECT for any romance book lover! Set in a New Adult genre, while Ben brings to life a love of reading in Hannah he takes the reader into his passion for reading too, it is foolish to resist his excitement for reading and it encouraged me to be excited for this novel. I liked how Ben & Hannah’s relationship unfolds while showing the struggle they both have trying to please their families and the difficulties that ensue through it all. An impassioning read can leave you reeling from one moment to the next. Nevertheless, I was enthralled and so happy with how it turns out.

I recommend this novel to those looking for a unique NA contemporary romance.

Book Teaser(s) :
"Well, what do you like to read?"
My face goes warm again. "I'm not...much of a reader, I guess."
A pause. "Not much of a reader?" He frowns, like the very idea is incomprehensible. I've probably just offended him or something. Come to think of it, saying, "I'm not much of a reader" in a bookstore is kind of like swearing in church. ~ within Chapter 1 - titled 'Hannah'
"Books can be dangerous. You never know when they're going to blow up, and what they'll take out when they do. Why do you think dictators are so fond of burning them? One idea can lead to another, and then before you know it, people are going crazy having thoughts and opinions and stuff." ~ within Chapter 5 - titled 'Hannah'
"World of Books?" I groan. That place is soulless--like Starbucks for books. "You're killing me."
"Well, there's that one right near campus--"
"I know, I know. Sorry it sucks."
"Me, too. But it didn't feel right going back to Prometheus without you there. I don't want anyone else to help me find a book."
My heart soars, and we're getting into a groove now where it feels natural to give her a hard time. "So you went to the soulless corporation instead? Hannah, that's probably the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me." ~ within Chapter 14 - titled 'Ben'
