Made the Grade: Strange Bedpersons by Jennifer Crusie

Format: Paperback | Pages: 249 | Release Date: December 1994 | Publisher: Harlequin Books

"Strange Bedpersons" by Jennifer Crusie

My Book Summary : Tess and Nick are so different for each other that they are perfect for each other .... now if only they can both figure it out before it's to late.

Tess grew up in a commune during the sixties, while Nick had a pretty normal blue-collar childhood. Nick is now a conservative Republican lawyer who has his eye set out for becoming partner at his law-firm, while Tess sticks up for what she believes in anyway possible (even if it means protesting or something bigger) and just recently lost her teaching position. But those aren't their only differences it's just the tip of the iceberg ... and many of those reasons are why Tess broke up with Nick about a month ago. So, why is Nick standing in front of her door looking like he's needing something??

That's because he is .... he needs her to pretend to be his fiancee for a weekend business trip. But can she do it, after everything they've been through?

Sure, why not? They're friends still, right? And it's not like they have any feelings or sexual attraction for each other still, right?

Well ... they will certainly know the answers to those questions once the weekend is through .... but will that stop them from trying to change each other into their perfect match?

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, Tess and Nick were quite a pair to read about. Especially with their different points of view and even though they wanted different things (out of each other and in life), they never really gave up on each other and stuck it through. It was a really sweet and funny novel. I'd recommended it to anyone who enjoys reading about romantic comedies. =0)

My Previous Review(s) for this Author : The Cinderella Deal

Book Teaser(s) :
"What's romantic about going back to your apartment?" Tess asked him, annoyed.
"What's romantic about doing it in the front seat of a sports car?" Nick retaliated. "Hell, I'm not even sure it's possible. There's not that much room."
"We could have found out," Tess said. "But no, you had to be respectable and responsible---"
"Besides, I have a career on the line here---"
"---and dull and boring---"
"---which I realize means nothing to you---"
"---and completely unexciting---"
"---but it means a lot to me---"
"---not to mention a grave comment on how little you actually wanted me---"
"---or at least enough that I'm not going to risk it for sex in a car---"
"---which is why I see no reason in pursuing this relationship---"
"---and anyway I prefer beds---"
"---so you can just go back to your own bed!" Tess flared.
"---like this one, for example," Nick finished.
"What?" ~ within Chapter 5

Feasted On: The Others Series, Book 15

Format: Paperback | Pages: 325 | Release Date: March 2010 | Publisher: St. Martin's

"Born To Be Wild" [The Others Series, Book 15] by Christine Warren

My Book Summary : Josie is the local veterinarian in her home town. She is also a bit of a loner but she can't get enough of the animals she helps out. However, when Sheriff Eli Pace barges one night she's closing up, with a wolf-shifter her world as she knew it changes in an instant.

Eli, a lion-shifter, was just planning to roam the woods after work until he found the shifter all banged up. Since they live in a small town in Oregon he new something bad would happen to the shifter if she wasn't checked out right away, so even though Josie only deals with pets, she's going to have to put her knowledge to good work to find out what's wrong. Since something is definitely wrong when a shifter isn't able to transform back into it's other form.

Now while Josie tries to find a cure, Eli is on the search to see who could have done this before another shifter gets hurt. But as they work together, trying to concentrate on the case and not each other seems to be getting harder by the minute ...

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Considering I hadn't previously read any other books from this series, I really got drawn into this novel. Especially since I really like shifter novels, plus this one was different in that the rest of the "human" population were aware of shifters, and that is one of the main reasons that the wolf was having a problem (people who didn't like any shifters were out to get them). Then to top off the mystery part of the book, the romance between Josie and Eli was HOT and just a great read to find out what would happen between them.

Book Teaser(s) :
"I can't treat them if I can't touch them."
"And you can't touch them if they rip your arms off," he shot back. "I want you to promise me that you won't go in that cage on your own even if you think they've got them both sedated."
"If they're unconscious, I don't see what they could do to hurt me."
"Promise."
"Eli---"
"Promise."
She gave in with very little grace. "Fine. I won't go in the cage unless I have someone else around."
"Unless I'm around."
Josie rolled her eyes. ~ within Chapter 13

Feasted On: Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 783 KB | Release Date: August 2010 | Publisher: Harper Collins

"Paranormalcy" by Kiersten White

My Book Summary : Evelyn (Evie) has been working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency (also known as the IPCA) since they found her when she was 8 yrs old and learned that she had the ability to look through any paranormal's glamors and see the truth of what they are. However, even though she has that ability she always considered herself a normal human, or as normal as she could get by living in an "institute" and having a best friend who just happens to be a mermaid.

Soon her life turns upside-down when a intriguing shape-shifter breaks into the place she lives, gets caught and held in one of their "prison" cells. Evie fines that this boy who broke in is like nothing she has ever seen and feels nice to have someone to talk to who is closer to her age. However, once she gets to know him she learns that there is something out there that he is trying to find out about and stop before it starts killing all of the paranormals. In addition, she starts to learn that there might be more to herself that meets the eye and she might not be able to consider herself "normal" ever again....

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars, "Paranormalcy" has plenty of twists and turns to keep you wrapped in this novel right up until the end!! Plus, the ending leaves you wanting to find out more about what Evie is going to do with her life now. And I'm left wondering what will happen to that "thing" that was attacking the paranormals? Will it strike again? Plus, the weird romance triangle that Evie is in, is just to strange to talk about ... I mean I know I want her with the shape-shifter but the fairy seems adamant that she'll be with him instead. =0/

Book Teaser(s) :
She turned to me, an intense look on her face. "Yes. I need you to tell me everything you know about Lend."
"Why?"
"Because the Supervisors are coming, and he's one of our only links to what's happening."
"That's stupid! That makes it sound like he's connected to it. He's not a link, he's a resource."
"I'm afraid we see it differently. What has he told you?"
I folded my arms, glaring at her. "What makes you think he's told me anything? And, even if he has, why would I tell you?" ~ within the Chapter called 'Hearts Aglow'
